Ordering from our website

To place an order simply add your item to your shopping basket on our website.

Delivery costs are visible before checking out if you are in mainland England and Wales.

Home Barn specialises in artisan antique & vintage items with unique character and signs of age, all products may be subject to small variations in colour, texture, and size from the images on the website. We cannot be held responsible for organic variations between unique products.

Artisan products are subject to variation in finish and colour, for example glaze varies on pottery and texture and colour on textiles and baskets.

 

Website orders for Scotland, Ireland, and offshore Islands

For delivery costs to Scotland, Ireland and offshore mainland UK please contact us for a shipping price via info@homebarnshop.co.uk. We will need your full delivery address and postcode, and a fully summary of your shopping basket to enable us to provide you with a quotation.

 

International delivery

We are sorry we do not offer international delivery however we are happy to work with the shippers of our international clients.

Collection of your order from Home Barn

We welcome collection of your orders from our shop in Marlow Buckinghamshire.

Collection of orders must be undertaken during standard opening hours.

Items must be collected within 10 days of ordering.

Please note that we do not allow customer or their couriers to collect large or heavy furniture items from Home Barn. Our beautiful stock is listed online and available for nationwide delivery.

 

Delivery of your order

Small parcels are normally delivered within 2-7 working days. For Scotland, Ireland, and some parts of rural England this may take a little longer.

Furniture items are normally delivered within 2-14 working days. for Scotland, Ireland and some parts of rural England this may take a little longer.

If you need your order urgently, please contact us before placing the order and we may be able to quote for a faster delivery.

 

Payment

All prices and payments are in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable. Please note many antique and vintage items do not carry VAT.

Delivery can only be arranged once any balance has been paid in full.

We do not accept payment by cheque, PayPal or via bank transfer.

All payments details are encrypted and secured by using a leading Payments Service Provider, consequently for internet transactions none of your card details are held by Home Barn or on our website.

 

Confirmation

For website orders you will receive a confirmation e-mail once your order is placed. Please check your junk and spam if this is not received within a few minutes of checking out.

 

Return of online orders

If goods are found damaged on receipt, please contact us immediately to arrange a return.

You can return products for any other reason within 14 days of receipt of the order providing the product is in its original condition, but you will bear the cost of returning the goods suitably packaged and insured; please obtain proof of posting on returning your order.

You must inform us if you are returning your item within 14 days of receipt of goods. Returns will only be accepted within 14 days of the receipt of order.

The cost of the product will be refunded within 14 days of the receipt of the return.

Please send your return to Home Barn, Wilton Farm, Marlow Road, Little Marlow, SL7 3RR to arrive within 14 days of receipt of order.

 

Return of online orders delivered by courier or parcel carrier

If you have ordered online (for example a piece of furniture) and you are offered a delivery slot which you cannot accept this is deemed to be part of the 14-day return period.

Your 14 days in which you are eligible to return an item begins from the time and date at which you were offered a delivery slot even if you refuse this delivery slot.

 

Cancellation of order

Orders placed online can not be cancelled after one hour as the order will have been processed by card processing and by our logistics and warehouse team. If you miss the window in which to cancel your order will be delivered to you.

Please refer to returns policy for information on how to return an unwanted item.

 

Delivery timings for furniture

Delivery of furniture by courier is normally undertaken within 2-14 days weeks for England and 1-4 weeks for Scotland and Wales.

Once a delivery time and date are set you would need to give us 72 hours’ notice of any variation to the date you have agreed to. Should there be no one available at the given address on the date you have agreed to, and you have not given the courier 72 hours’ notice you would need to pay the delivery fee again.

 

In Store Purchases – Return Policy

We offer a shop credit which is valid for one year from date of issue on any items returned within 14 days of purchase.

Items purchased in store cannot be refunded, they can be exchanged or alternatively you will be given a credit note.

Items returned after the 14-day period has elapsed cannot be refunded, credited, or exchanged.

 

Privacy

When you make a purchase, we need to collect certain information to fulfil your order. we do not sell, rent, or otherwise distribute this information to any third parties for any purpose.

If you have asked to be added to the mailing list for our newsletter, we will send you details of my new products and any events as they become available; you can request removal from my mailing list at any time by contacting us or hitting the unsubscribe button.

We will not disclose your details to anybody unless required by law to do so or unless you explicitly give me the authority to do so.

All internet payments details are encrypted and secured by using a leading Payments Service Provider. None of your card details are held by Home Barn or on our website.

Gift Cards

Gift cards are valid for one year from the date of purchase, we cannot except responsibility for any lost or damaged gift card and credit cannot be redeemed without original voucher.

 

Delivery Terms and Conditions

Parcel delivery

Orders are dispatched using a national courier. Tracking will be provided via the mobile phone number / email address you provide when you check out.

If you wish to divert your parcel to a collection point or to nominate a safe space, you must do this via the courier once they have sent you notification of delivery date.

Should you not be at home when the courier comes, and you have not alerted the courier via tracking in advance you may need to collect your parcel from your local depot.

We normally use Parcelforce for our parcel deliveries but on occasion my use other well know courier companies.

The cost of delivery is visible at the checkout online and will be available for you to see before you pay if your delivery address is in mainland England or Wales.

 

Furniture Delivery

Delivery will take place via door-to-door courier as furniture items are too large and heavy, long, or fragile to be delivered in a parcel by any of the UK parcel providers.

This service is undertaken by a one-man delivery service.

Our couriers never deliver up any stairs or down any stairs or use service lifts to deliver to your property.

Please be prepared to help to move the item from the van or lorry to just inside your door.

When delivery takes place, it will be to just inside the threshold of your home only.

Some of our furniture is very heavy (20-120 kilograms), and you will need to supply a very capable and very strong helper at the time of delivery.

Tables are flat packed for self-assembly.

The courier will not be able to carry the furniture up or down steps to access your property.

You will need to supply a strong helper to assist on the day of delivery.

After the courier has left, you will need to remove the item from its packaging when present and carry it from your doorway into your home.

Delivery is added at the checkout – you will be able to view this charge before you pay.

 

Local deliveries

For local deliveries, depending on location, there may be the option of a two-man delivery with an assembly service. We will endeavour to find you the best option available. Please contact us with your full address including your postcode for a quotation.

 

Scotland and Northern Ireland furniture deliveries

For Scotland, Northern Ireland delivery prices are on the application – please supply your full address and postcode when you email us.

 

Assembly of tables and other furniture

Assembly is not included as a part of our one-man delivery service.

 

Dining table assembly

Assembly of the dining table legs is via a simple set of bolts and pegs. You will require a spanner. When removing the table elements from the package please locate the symbols on the four components which should be placed adjacent to the corresponding symbol. There is a wooden peg to secure the stretcher bar which should be pushed gently in with the palm of your hand with no force used.

 

Storage of items

Once your order is placed, we will arrange delivery immediately and let you know what the date of delivery will be.

Our storage facilities are very limited and we can not hold your items beyond the period taken for the courier to remove your items from our warehouse or shop facilities.

For longer storage periods there is a storage facility within Buckinghamshire approximately 5 miles from Home Barn which you could independently hire. Please ask for details if this could help (we would charge to deliver to this storage facility)

We reserve the right to charge storage fees of up to £125 per item, per week should you not be available to take delivery or respond to our requests to arrange a delivery date, therefore we strongly recommend that you contact us to arrange for your items to be moved to a local storage facility (we are happy to provide their details)

 

Preparation for delivery one man threshold service

Please note that all items delivered into the threshold of your home are carried out at your own risk. The following handy little check list will help to ensure that we conduct a successful delivery into your home.

ADEQUATE FLOOR PROTECTION – Please ensure you have placed adequate covering to protect your lovely flooring or carpets. Due to health and Safety the delivery team cannot remove any clothing or footwear.

BREAKABLE OBJECTS – Knocks and falls sometimes happen so it’s always best to remove anything that might break or get damaged along the delivery pathway before the team arrives.

 

Preparation for delivery two man grand floor service (by previous arrangement for local deliveries and by individual quotation only)

Please note that all items delivered into the threshold of your home are carried out at your own risk. The following handy little check list will help to ensure that we conduct a successful delivery into your home.

ADEQUATE FLOOR PROTECTION – Please ensure you have placed adequate covering to protect your lovely flooring or carpets. Due to health and Safety the delivery team cannot remove any clothing or footwear.

ACCESS IN PROPERTY – Please let us know before ordering if you have any access issues. Alert us to twisty passages, low doorways, and dog-leg stairs. We will not be able to refund you if the item does not fit into your home or into its final location, so please ask away about dimensions before you buy. You also need to make sure our delivery van can make it close enough to your home. Please speak to us beforehand if you’re not sure. Should our logistics team feel that there is a danger to your property and equally to them in delivering large items upstairs, they may refuse to do so.

ACCESS CHECKS AVAILABLE – If you would like our experts to assess your property in advance, just let us know! There will be a charge for this service.

ACCESS ISSUES AND CUSTOMER DECLARATION – We encourage our drivers to go above and beyond to make sure your delivery goes as smoothly as possible, but sometimes their dedication to help get your furniture in place could result in an accidental mark or two on your walls if your access is very narrow. If you would like to proceed, please do so knowing that there is a chance that something may get damaged or marked. If you would prefer not to take this risk, then we will only be able to deliver the goods to your front door.

PARKING – If your property has parking restrictions, it’s very important that you let us know in advance so we can plan. If a parking permit is required, you must arrange this. Any problems with parking availability which result in a failed delivery or parking ticket, will be chargeable to the customer. Should the van/lorry not be able to get within 10 metres of the threshold of your your delivery address this is likely to result in a failed delivery.

FAILED DELIVERIES – Failed deliveries unfortunately come with a cost. With route planning, vehicle space allocation, driver’s road time, there are costs which we cannot claw back. If you need to make changes to your delivery date, please give us plenty of notice to avoid lost fees.
