Our beautiful, rustic reclaimed timber dining tables feature breadboard ends and trestle legs.

Each table is individually handcrafted in the UK from thick planks of solid pine.

The lead time is approximately 6 to 8 weeks from order.  Please ask if you have a specific deadline.

You can order a table at the exact length you require. For example a 5 and a half foot table is perfectly possible. 8ft is the maximum length available.

Please allow for a little tolerance in lengths and widths due to the fact that the timber is reclaimed. Dimensions may vary by 1-5cm.

Delivery Charges

Please call us for a delivery quotation; we are unable to supply delivery quotations for dining tables online.

Ordering

Do call us to place an order – a 50% deposit will be payable with your order and the balance will be payable prior to delivery.

We are happy for you to order online but the full payment will be made at checkout in this instance. We would contact you within 24 – 48 hours to let you know your delivery price.

Table tops are supplied simply sanded. We recommend waxing for a beautiful, natural finish.  Please ask if you would like us to apply wax to your table top.

Product Information

Please read the following information carefully before ordering:

  • These tables are full character and are not ‘perfect’. The timber is reclaimed and there will be marks, cracks & splits, other blemishes and imperfections. The timber is not grade ‘A’ quality… it is carefully selected to be a characterful as possible. Salvaged wood may have come from old buildings and therefore have nail holes, hammer marks, historic paint traces and so on.
  • The salvaged timbers used are from rough-hewn reclaimed timber, which will be variable in grain, texture and colour.  Knots, cracks, dark marks, rusty spots, unevenness within the planks and variations in coloring are all part of the character of the table.
  • Each plank in the table top will be unlikely to be exactly the same in grain, colour or texture. Reclaimed timber may have nicks, saw marks, sanding marks, old nail holes and other various signs of its previous use.  Filler in a sympathetic colour may be used in areas also we may use dowels or blocks to fill larger holes or knots.
  • Exact dimensions vary.  Allow up to four cm tolerance within measurements quoted.
  • As the timber is reclaimed there can be slight movement, you may find that you need to pop a felt pad under one leg for example to address a wobble.
  • The table top is unlikely to be entirely flat and level…. you may find that in areas a dinner plate will (perhaps) not sit entirely flat.  Planks within the table top may be slightly cupped and bowed when you first take delivery AND this may occur over time also.
  • Areas of the table may have been heavily sanded creating rounded shallows and dips, these can also be found on the edges of the furniture.
  • Breadboard ends are designed to expand and contract and may become a little larger than the table width in time – this is a natural and normal feature.  If your breadboard ends should expand you can saw or sand off the excess timber after the table has settled for several months within home.  You may also disguise shrinkage in this area by adding a little wax.
  • Do not sit your table on a floor with under floor heating when it is first delivered, the extremes of heat may cause sudden drying of the timbers in your table and this could result in cracking.  Extremes of temperature must be avoided for the first 8-12 weeks until you table has settled in.  If you use under floor heating please be cautious and use it on a low setting for this first period.
  • Wax can be added at home to disguise any cosmetic cracks that develop.
  • We recommend that should you choose not to seal your table that you use protection on the surface of your table such as waterproof covers, coasters and place mats.
  • If you choose to seal your table with wax or varnish then this will be water resistant and stain resistant but NOT waterproof and stain proof, you must take use protective covers on your table to prevent damage.
  • If you choose to wax your table the wax will need to be re-applied periodically to keep up the protection and to reseal it.  We recommend this be done every 1 to 6 months.  If your table is waxed it can be wiped with a wrung out damp cloth and then immediately dried with a soft cloth.
  • A 25 cm overhang at the head of your table is a general industry standard and is comfortable for a person of average height. Please note our 5ft tables come with an 18cm overhang (which gives you slightly less legroom at the head of the table).
  • If we deliver your table there will only be one man on the delivery, you will need to supply someone strong at your delivery address to take the other end of the furniture.
  • If you are seeking a perfect table then it is highly probable that our tables may not be for you.  Our tables are carefully designed to be very rustic and will not be perfect. We wish to emphasize that this is inherent to the design and for us allows the salvaged timbers to look ‘reclaimed’ and that this is what is beautiful about them.

Delivery Terms and Conditions

Collection from Homebarn

Always welcome, when ordering please specify ‘Collect from Shop’ option.

Small Parcel – £4.95

For smaller items and our standard UK delivery we use Royal Mail first or second class delivery. This is usually a signed for service. If you are not in to take delivery of the package Royal Mail should leave a red calling card. The item will be taken to your local depot to be collected in person. Or you can contact Royal Mail directly to arrange re delivery of the item.

Should your order not be successfully delivered to you and consequently returned to Home Barn – we will ask you to pay an additional delivery charge for a resend.

Large Parcel – £10.95

This delivery service is tracked to your door and if you are not in to take delivery of the package the courier should leave a contact calling card. This is a signed for service, after two attempts the item will be delivered back to Home Barn or sent to a collection centre for you to collect within timeframes dictated by the courier company.

Should your order not be successfully delivered to you and consequently returned to Home Barn – we will ask you to pay an additional delivery charge for a resend.

Small Pallet – £40.00

Pallet service for small items of furniture and other items too large to post.

After your order we will contact you directly to schedule a specific delivery day. Pallets will be delivered to the curb outside your house, after the driver has confirmed you are home to receive the delivery.

This is a signed for service. If no one is at home they will leave a card with their contact details to reschedule. After two attempts the item will be delivered back to Home Barn.

Pallets are delivered Monday to Friday between 8 and and 6pm on a date previously agreed with you.  There is no exact timing available for a pallet delivery.  If you wish to request an am or pm delivery then there will be an additional charge of £25.

The courier will not remove the pallet or the packaging from your delivery address.  They are not obliged to move the delivery into your home.

This is a signed for service. If no one is at home they will leave a card with their contact details to reschedule. After two attempts the item will be delivered back to Home Barn.

Special Delivery – For extra large or fragile furniture

We will contact you within 48-72 hours with a delivery quote and if you agree we will then schedule a specific delivery slot with you. A private courier will deliver our larger items of furniture and/or fragile items. Smaller items also ordered may be delivered separately depending on their size.

The lead time for this service is approximately 1 day to 3 weeks depending on your location and availability.

Please note that this item is large and heavy.  Please make sure before buying it that it will fit and can be manoeuvred into the room it is intended for.  The customer will nee to provide 1 strong able bodied person(s) for our driver to assist with carrying.

If you are located a distance of more than 100 miles from Homebarn please be aware that the quoted lead time may be increased as shipments are often consolidated to further away areas and these deliveries only happen every 2-4 weeks.

Our dining tables are normally delivered with the top attached for safe transportation.

If you need to remove the top for access then you can do this easily by removing the screws which attach the top to the base with an electric screwdriver.

If you are located within a 120 mile radius of our postcode (SL7 3RR) we may in some circumstances be able to send a courier to you who can assist with removal of the top. Please ask if this is something that would be helpful and we can provide an appropriate quotation.

Please note that this item is large and heavy.  Please make sure before buying it that it will fit and can be manoeuvred into the room it is intended for.  The customer will nee to provide 1 strong able bodied person(s) for our driver to assist with carrying.

Please remember; this is NOT a two man delivery, so we will only be able to deliver to the front door. Often the driver will help you inside the house but they are under no obligation to do so and it will depend on his/her schedule and their company’s health and safety policy.

If you require us to send two men on the delivery with your item of furniture we will be happy to give you a quotation for a two man delivery (additional costs will apply).

The Terms and Conditions 

Please note that all items delivered beyond the threshold of your home are carried out at your own risk. The following handy little check list will help to ensure that we conduct a successful delivery into your home.

ADEQUATE FLOOR PROTECTION – Please ensure you have placed adequate covering to protect your lovely flooring or carpets. Due to health and Safety the delivery team cannot remove any clothing or footwear.

BREAKABLE OBJECTS – Knocks and falls sometimes happen so it’s always best to remove anything that might break, or get damaged along the delivery pathway before the team arrives.

ACCESS IN PROPERTY – Please let us know before ordering if you have any access issues.  Alert us to twisty passages, low doorways and dog-leg stairs. You also need to make sure our delivery van can make it close enough to your home. Please speak to us beforehand if you’re not sure. Should our logistics team feel that there is a danger to your property and equally to them in delivering large items upstairs, they may refuse to do so.  We will not be able to refund you if the item does not fit into your home or into it’s final location, so please ask away about dimensions before you buy.

ACCESS CHECKS AVAILABLE – If you would like our experts to assess your property in advance, just let us know! There will be a charge for this service.

ACCESS ISSUES AND CUSTOMER DECLARATION – We encourage our drivers to go above and beyond to make sure your delivery goes as smoothly as possible, but sometimes their dedication to help get your furniture in place could result in an accidental mark or two on your walls if your access is very narrow. If you would like to proceed please do so knowing that threes a chance that something may get damaged or marked. If you would prefer not to take this risk then we will only be able to deliver the goods to your front door.

PARKING – If your property has parking restrictions, it’s very important that you let us know in advance so we can plan. If a parking permit is required, you must arrange this. Any problems with parking availability which result in a failed delivery or parking ticket, will be chargeable to the customer.

FAILED DELIVERIES – Failed deliveries unfortunately come with a cost. With route planning, vehicle space allocation, drivers road time, there are costs which we cannot claw back. If you need to make changes to your delivery date, please give us plenty of notice to avoid lost fees.

DELAYED DELIVERIES AT CUSTOMERS REQUEST – If your order is ready for delivery but you realise you need a bit more time to finish your home renovation, just let us know! We have limited warehouse facilities.  If you cannot take delivery straight at the previously agreed time please let us know as soon as possible.  Sometimes we are happy to store your items for a limited time (free of charge) to help you out!  We reserve the right to charge storage fees of up to £125 per item, per week.
